I always wished I had a compiled list where I could get everything I need for my upholstery start up.

So for this post, i won'tbe boring you with all the unnecessary details you do not need!

Quick note, this list is strictly based on my own perspective of what tools and equipment are abdutely need for a starter with automotive upholstery, some people might think it's over the top and some other might think it's not comprehensive enough.

The vehicle upholstery tools and equipments that will be listed on this blog post about auto upholstery totally helped me get ahead when i started out so here they are in no particular order:

1. Industrial Sewing machine : very necessary if you're going to be sewing your own upholstery.

2. Working tables : this will be used to cut your upholstery fabrics or leather, and also foam them. You'll also need a work table to draft patterns and designs for your upholstery.

3. Cutting shears : for cutting fabrics and foam, also for trimming of excess foam.

4. Hog ring pliers : for clipping finished works with hog rings to the seat frame.

5. Hand tools and rulers : basically for drafting designs onto fabrics or leather.

6. Seam reapers (blades) : for reaping the primary seat for template.

7. Dykes : for removing hog rings.

8. Steamer / Heat gun : for prepping finishe leather cover before installation, naturally you'd leave it under the sun but... Yeah, also you can use it to take off wrinkles on your work.

I belive the rest om the list are self explanatory, i also hope this helped you with your research.

9. Glue gun

10. Staple gun

11. Trim removal tool set

12. Steering puller tool
